Tarts are definitely show-offs! With crisp, crunchy bases and sweet, smooth fillings, they’re the ultimate mouthwatering dessert. By definition a tart is a baked dish consisting of a filling over a pastry base with an open top that is not covered with pastry. Traditionally the base is a shortcrust pastry with a sweet or savoury filling, but nowadays a base and filling can be anything, as long as they stick together. There are many varieties of the yummy tart like tarte tatin, meringue tart, treacle tart, bakewell tart, savoury tart, raw tart, vegan tart,...
