We all know cinnamon by its intense aroma and flavour. They derive from its essential oil and principal component, cinnamaldehyde and some other components like eugenol. Cinnamon is by definition a spice acquired from the inner bark of several tree species from the category Cinnamomum. Cinnamon is used mainly as an aromatic condiment and flavouring additive in a wide variety of traditional cuisines, sweet and savoury dishes, breakfast cereals, snacks, tea, coffee and many others. Cinnamon isn't just delicious but it is healthy as well - it has anti-inflammatory properties, it may cut the risk of heart diseases, protects against cancer, helps fight bacterial and fungal infections, it lowers blood sugar levels, it is loaded with antioxidants,... Enough said, let's check out our favourite cinnamon recipes
